The images are captured directly on the computer, guaranteeing excellent quality and high speed. Moreover it is possible to process and optimize the picture on the computer in order to avoid the repetition of the test if the result is not satisfactory.

INTRAORAL RADIOGRAPHY

The intraoral radiography is useful in different situations, such as:

• During a root canal treatment, to identify the number and shape of the roots and to measure the length of the canals accurately.
• At the beginning of a periodontal therapy, to evaluate the amount of bone that got lost and the shape of the intraosseous pockets.
• To check the presence of carious lesions that are difficult to view in the clinic
• Verify the past procedures (for example after an implant treatment).

IMPLANT PLAN USING SOFTWARE

Digital devices are useful in implantology: thanks to dedicated softwares, it’s possible to receive the digital images of the interested anatomical areas where the implants will be virtually inserted, calculating their length and diameter in order to perform the surgery with more safety and predictability. All the information can be transferred to another machine that quickly reproduces useful dental masks to guide the surgery. It is also possible to make a virtual endoscopy – an instrument with a great diagnostic value – to check the internal state of a maxillary sinus or the mandibular canal for example.

Intraoral photography is fundamental for a complete documentation of the treatment. Thanks to the passage from analogue to digital, new procedures and imaging techniques help the dentist to complete the diagnosis and to document the progress and the final result of the therapy. It is also a great help in communicating with patients.
